Harbor View of Oulu during the summer. Located on the Gulf of Bothnia, Oulu is the 6th largest city in Finland and largest city in the North. There are various activities to do in Oulu, whether it be cultural or in nature. With cobblestone streets and a fresh breeze coming from the sea, Oulu is a wonderful place to slip away to. Oulu also has a variety of wonderful restaurants and international cuisine's, such as Finnish, Indian, Chinese, Russian, Greek, and Turkish. Also, many pizzerias and even McDonalds, too. Not to mention the various cafes to grab some coffee and enjoy the various Finnish pastries. During the summer, the streets are filled with ice cream stands and people enjoying the day outside drinking a cider or just watching passer-byes. There is something for everyone in Oulu. Whether it be attending a performance in the theatre, an exhibition in the art museums, attending a symphony orchestra performance, enjoying the surroundings on a warm summer day, or shopping until you can no longer walk, you will never run out of things to do. There is also plenty of nightlife for those interested, too.
