In a word, Pellervo is a magnificent horse.
You don't really have to introduce him to Finnhorse fans, because during
the past three seasons he has been almost invincible on Finnish horses'
show jumping classes and as a result of this he has won three Finnish Championships
in a row in 1999-2001! The charming black stallion gathers admiration wherever
he is, but in addition to his good competition results he also has a really
fine nature. You rarely meet a stallion smarter or calmer than Pokeri and
he's really easy to handle and a true gentleman. The only situation when
Pokeri tends to "perform" a little is when he knows there's a mare waiting
for him...
When riding dressage Poke can even be downright
lazy if he's not interested of what he's supposed to do - or at least he
concentrates on anything but the matter itself, like on all the interesting
things happening around him! When it comes to jumping he is always attentive
and his capacity is huge, he jumps precisely and carefully. In general
Poke is well schooled and pleasant to ride even if sometimes he may surprise
you with a good buck!
Pellervo is a I prize stallion on the Finnish
Riding Horse Stud Book and in Castello there is also one of his offsrings,
Castellon
Pietari -00.
EX-GROOM'S COMMENT: "Nice and really calm stallion. A true ideal to groom. Although at times there is a boyish glimpse in the corner of Pokeri's eye, too! In every way a real gentleman. Of this he has got his "nickname" Tädäri (=täydellinen, perfect)." - Sonja
