Conclusions

Creating as dynamic documents as possible by using PHP and CSS for various platforms I recommend to take account following principles:

• Design carefully naming conventions for example in following situations:
  • If files names create series.
  • If titles create series.
• Modularize by using the include function the document type declaration + the HEAD-section for example at the following way:
  • Platform dependent document type declaration and the head-section.
  • Common HEAD-section.
  • Document-level common HEAD-section.
• Modularize by using the include function the body section for example at the following way:
  • Platform dependent beginning of the body section.
  • Platform dependent navigation.
  • Platform dependent main structure of the page (this module can be combined with the navigation module or leave off).
  • Common content.
  • Platform dependent termination of the page.
• Put all navigation links (or changing parts of the addresses) as variables (values of the variable can be get from the same page, external files or from databases).
• Generate all repeated link lists so much as possible by using functions.
• Get all repeated parts (snippets) from separate files or databases. Get changing values of variable from the same page, external files or from databases.
• Use much class-attributes in order to easy afterward change the presentation.
• Use as simple structure in the main content as possible.
• Avoid using presentational elements (for example FONT) and attributes - the increase unnecessary file sizes.
• Avoid creating too long pages. If possible divide pages into logical sections.
