Sometimes when someone asks me about Turkish Angora, I
have said that first think what comes to your mind about word Angora, then
turn all upside down. As many people think that Angora is a cat with a
very long coat = Persian, and Turkish Angora is in many ways the opposite
of Persian in coat, body structure and also in temperament.
| Why do we think Turkish Angora is so wonderful pet?
|
 |
To us the main thing is temperament. Turkish Angora is
just so suitable playful and lively cat. Not too wild, but still lively.
But also very affectionate and social cats, always with us and joins in
all our works, even too affectionate sometimes... But as we think the cat
should be, Turkish Angoras keep their own mind, do what they want to do
and tell us if they don't like something. Turkish Angora is also quiet
cat, or is it? Sometimes they purr so loudly that you can't hear even the
television. And they purr, always!
But not only the temperament, but also the easiness to
groome and take care of, makes them a wonderful pet. You don't have to
groome them, their coat is so easy that they take care of it themselves.
And that's because their coat is quite short, very smooth and what's best,
they don't have any undercoat and that's why the coat does not tangle much.
And they do not lose lot of hair either, so grooming is not necessary
either from that point of view.
Turkish Angora is also a healthy cat. It's structure is
made for motion, and so even if they fall down they usually don't hurt
themselves, and mostly also otherwise Turkish Angoras are healthy.
